After Lecce, Roma beat Sassuolo in their first home game of 2026: the Giallorossi won 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico with goals from Koné and Soulé.
After the match, the French midfielder spoke to DAZN about his performance.
“I’m very happy with the goal; it was crucial in breaking the deadlock. But I’m especially happy with the team’s performance and the three important points. We overcame some difficult moments, and I personally had some slightly subdued performances, but we responded well as a team. I’ll continue working to help this team.”
“The most important thing is to win, and if I can also score, even better. Gasperini’s style of play allows us midfielders to get to the shot and score, and today I could have scored a few more. We need to continue on this path.”
“Sassuolo were very dangerous on the counterattack and created problems for us. The coach asked us to be organized on the pitch and play well to execute what we had set out to do. We had to be wide on the pitch and serve the ball to the attackers, who are the ones who create the danger. We had to continue like this; we just needed a bit of precision in the final third of the pitch. We did that and scored two good goals. We’re satisfied.”
