“Ultimately, it’s always about appreciation. That the performances you’ve delivered over the past years are recognised in some way,” Konrad Laimer said as he addressed stalled Bayern Munich contract talks. He was speaking to Servus TV.

Last month, board member for sport Max Eberl said discussions over an extension beyond 2027 were put on hold, citing a misalignment between the club and the player’s representatives.

“There was a brief conversation once, then there wasn’t any again. Since then, more has been written than anything is actually true.”

Laimer has one year left on his contract with Bayern.

He said he remains “completely relaxed” about his future and that playing for Bayern is “a lot of fun”.

Whether he will stay beyond 2027 remains open. “Let’s see where the journey takes us,” he said.
