Al-Hilal head into the AFC Champions League knockouts with fresh concern over Koulibaly’s fitness after a thigh issue emerged.

Al-Riyadhiah reports that the Senegal centre-back could miss the knockout phase.

He has a haematoma in his anterior thigh muscle and will travel to Jeddah in the coming hours to continue treatment.

The knockout rounds start tomorrow in Jeddah, with the Western Conference quarter-finals, delayed because of the Middle East conflict, kicking off first.

Al-Hilal face Al-Sadd on Monday. Al-Ahli Jeddah take on Al-Duhail, and Al-Ittihad meet Al-Wahda on Tuesday.

Any absence would be a major blow for coach Simone Inzaghi, with Koulibaly a linchpin of the Al-Hilal back line.
