Guinean international striker Serhou Guirassy continues to endure a tough spell with Borussia Dortmund, after failing to find the net in the match against Cologne during Bundesliga matchday 8.

Despite these struggles, Guirassy is determined to rediscover his best form. This season, he has scored 4 goals in 7 Bundesliga appearances.

The former Stuttgart forward is also under extra pressure: his last league goal came on September 13 against Heidenheim, and he has only netted once in the Champions League.

In an effort to help him regain his sharpness, Croatian coach Niko Kovac is considering giving Guirassy a temporary rest for the German Cup match scheduled Tuesday against Eintracht Frankfurt, and possibly for some upcoming fixtures as well.

During the press conference, Kovac stated: It’s possible that Guirassy will get a short break, but we still have time to assess tomorrow’s match and the ones ahead. Even though he’s not scoring right now, his relentless effort and work rate on the pitch are clear, and he has my full support. ''

He added: 'Goal droughts are normal for any striker. Guirassy remains a central part of our attack and a cornerstone of the team, indispensable to the ‘Black and Yellows’ plans.'
