Borussia Dortmund will be without Marcel Sabitzer for Tuesday night’s Champions League meeting with Tottenham because of a calf problem.

According to BuLi News, the midfielder also sat out the 3-2 win over FC St. Pauli at the weekend.

“Sabi has calf problems,” said Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac at a press conference ahead of the game. “It’s nothing spectacular as such, but he needs to take a break for some time. The calf is a muscle that’s put under a lot of strain.”

In his absence, Jobe Bellingham started alongside Felix Nmecha in central midfield against FC St. Pauli, and the Englishman is expected to keep his place on Tuesday.

Carney Chukwuemeka is the main alternative, offering a more attacking option.

Salih Özcan is not registered for the Champions League.
