Sunderland are monitoring Royal Charleroi midfielder Yacine Titraoui, with Leeds United also credited with interest ahead of the summer window.
Africa Foot reports Leeds are currently the leading English suitor. It adds the Premier League is viewed as a likely next step if a move materialises, and that Titraoui has recently switched to agents who specialise in Premier League deals.
The 22-year-old moved from Paradou AC last summer, quickly becoming a regular in the Jupiler Pro League, and his form has prompted attention from several leagues, including England.
Charleroi are in a strong position, having paid around a million pounds and inserted a 25% sell-on clause. With a contract to 2027 plus an option year, they have already rejected bids that fell short of their valuation.
Titraoui is valued at roughly £4.25million, but the Belgian club are said to want significantly more. Sunderland’s watching brief forms part of wider scouting, and any move would depend on price and competition.
