Krystian Bielik was at the centre of controversy after an altercation with a young Portsmouth supporter, according to ExpressAndStar.com. It came during Cardiff City’s 2-0 defeat at Fratton Park.

The flashpoint occurred in the second half as Bielik tried to retrieve the ball to take a quick throw with Cardiff behind.

Footage shows a young home fan throwing the ball away. Bielik then appeared to move his arm towards the supporter’s face, after which the youngster seemingly slapped out.

It has been reported the fan and his family were asked to leave. Referee Ben Speedie spoke to managers Brian Barry-Murphy and John Mousinho after the incident, but took no action against Bielik.

Barry-Murphy said he was mindful of a supporter reacting to his player and praised how the referee handled it. He added he had been assured the correct processes had been followed and expects the Football Association to do the same.

There were calls on social media for Bielik to be punished. Bielik, 28, joined Cardiff late in August in a £2.5 million move from Albion after one season at The Hawthorns.
