Huddersfield Town announced the signing of Kyle Hudlin earlier this week.

The Terriers have paid Solihull Moors an undisclosed fee for the Englishman’s services.

Hudlin has signed a two-year deal and will initially play for the club’s B team.

Hudlin, a striker, could be about to give Championship defenders nightmares this season.

The 22-year-old is Britain’s tallest outfield player in Britain. He stands at 6 foot 9 inches tall (206cm).

He even towers above Peter Crouch – he is two inches taller than the former Tottenham and Liverpool target man.

Hudlin joined Solihull Moors in 2020. He scored 15 times in 62 games for the National League side.

He scored the opening goal in the National league playoff final at the start of June but, unfortunately for Solihull Moors, they went on to lose 2-1 to Grimbsy in extra-time.

Hudlin looks a real handful. Having only turned 22 last month, he is still young and could develop into a key player for Huddersfield.

He will be looking to emulate the success of his Huddersfield teammate, Sorba Thomas.

Like Hudlin, The Terriers signed Thomas from National League side Boreham Wood in 2021. He is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Huddersfield are excited by the signing of Hudlin and are confident he will continue to develop as a footballer.

Head of Academy Recruitment Lee Mellor said, per the club’s official website: “Kyle is a very interesting player – one we are delighted to welcome to the Club.

“He’s had a fantastic rise to this position already, but we still feel there is a lot more to come from him. It was clear from our conversations that he has real self-belief and a determination to succeed, which is hugely important to making the most of his potential.

“We have plenty of options for what is the correct next step for Kyle. I’m excited to see his progress over the coming years.”
