Kyle Walker has stated that he already knows what he has to do to stop Kylian Mbappe when England take on France in the quarter-final of the FIFA World Cup.
Walker was given a tough time in England’s win over Senegal by Ismaila Sarr and the challenge against Mbappe will definitely not be easier, with the Frenchman in supreme form in the tournament. He was sensational in France’s win over Poland.
Ahead of the game, Walker appeared in England’s press conference and stated that he knows what to do to stop the Paris Saint-Germain man.
He stated: “Obviously, it will help to have played against him a few times with Manchester City, when we played against Paris Saint-Germain. He’s a fantastic player, in great shape, so it won’t be an easy task, but in professional football you always want to play against the best. Mbappé is one of the best, if not the best at the moment. I understand the attention, I play football and I know what I have to do to stop it “
Walker also believes that the Three Lions can beat France at the weekend, saying: “We are England and we can cause problems for the French. This match is not England against Mbappé. It’s England against France. I’m going to represent my country in the quarterfinals of the World Cup and if we don’t win, we’ll go home.”
