According to L'Équipe, France captain Kylian Mbappé returned to Real Madrid training on Monday morning after three weeks off following the World Cup.
He reported back at Valdebebas and met new head coach José Mourinho. Alongside fellow summer arrivals Ibrahima Konaté and Marc Cucurella, he began his medical checks.
The trio completed part of their examinations before the session scheduled for 10:00. Mbappé then took part in training in full without issue and finished his tests at the club’s facilities.
Mbappé is expected to build fitness by featuring in the Teresa Herrera Trophy against Deportivo La Corogne on Wednesday at 21:00 at Riazor. He is not expected to start that game, but could do so on Sunday in a friendly against Schalke 04 after a week of team training.
The plan is to have him ready a week before Madrid begin their Liga campaign on Saturday 22 August at 21:30 away to Espanyol Barcelona. By Wednesday, Mourinho will have an almost complete group, with only Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jude Bellingham still to return.
