Kylian Mbappé broke an all-time Cristiano Ronaldo record in Real Madrid vs Benfica

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé secured for himself a piece of goalscoring history in the club’s latest outing.
This came courtesy of the Frenchman’s brace against Benfica.
Real Madrid were of course back in action on Wednesday, closing out their league phase campaign in the Champions League in a meeting with Portuguese heavyweights Benfica.
When all was said and done on a night to forget for Los Blancos, Álvaro Arbeloa’s troops were condemned to the wrong side of a 4-2 result.
As much means that Real are facing up to a two-legged playoff meeting with none other than Benfica.
And yet, as alluded to above, star frontman Kylian Mbappé nevertheless managed to make history.
Mbappé was responsible for netting both of the visitors’ goals in Lisbon during the week.
And as since revealed by UEFA, the 27-year-old as a result broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-standing record for the most goals ever recorded by a player in a single group/league phase campaign in the Champions League (13-11).
