Kylian Mbappé will join Didier Deschamps at France’s press conference on Sunday at 21:30 ahead of the Iraq match, L'Équipe reports.

Deschamps instead sent N'Golo Kanté, aiming to spare his captain and centre forward a journey of several hours from the MetLife Stadium, where the press conference was held, back to the France training base on the eve of his tournament bow.

The squad’s flight landed in Philadelphia at 12:14 local time on Sunday, 18:14 in France.

Les Bleus play their second group match against Iraq on Monday at 23:00.
