According to a report from MARCA, Kylian Mbappe’s shirt sales are smashing all the records at the Real Madrid club stores.

Following the announcement of his official shirt number, the demand for Mbappe’s shirt skyrocketed, quickly overwhelming the club’s online store.

The surge in orders was so intense that the store had to display a message warning of potential delivery delays due to the unprecedented demand.

Notice by Real Madrid

Eventually, Real Madrid issued a notice on their website stating that due to the high demand for Mbappe’s collection, there could be delivery delays of up to 4-6 additional weeks, regardless of the shipping method chosen.

Interestingly, the notice appeared on the very first day that Mbappe’s collection for the 2024/25 season was made available for purchase.

When testing the store with other players’ shirts, like those of Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, it was observed that the waiting times were significantly shorter.

Typically, personalized items require an additional 3-4 business days for processing before shipping. This highlights the extraordinary demand for Mbappe’s shirt, which has completely exceeded Real Madrid’s expectations.

Real Madrid are asking for patience

The sheer volume of sales has forced Real Madrid to ask for patience from their fans as they work to manage the ‘problem’ of fulfilling orders.

The atmosphere at the Bernabéu store is ‘pure euphoria’ after the Mbappe shirts went up for sale. One fan saod: “It’s been seven years waiting for this moment.”

Ultimately, Mbappe’s shirt is on track to break all previous records at the club, marking the beginning of what is hoped to be a historic chapter for both the player and the team.

His official presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, at the Santiago Bernabeu, where a packed stadium is anticipated.

Meanwhile, in addition to Mbappe’s shirt number, there are other changes in the kit numbers for next season. Eduardo Camavinga will switch from number 12 to 6, Federico Valverde from 15 to 8, and Aurelien Tchouameni from 18 to 14.

Arda Guler will now wear number 15, and Jesus Vallejo will take number 18. The prices for these shirts range between €120 and €180, with an additional €20 for customization, and optional La Liga EA Sports or Champions League patches can be added.
