LA Galaxy finalizing deal for free agent Justin Haak | OneFootball

MLS legacy outfit LA Galaxy could be on the cusp of a massive bounce-back season in 2026 as the club look to close a deal for free agent center-back Justin Haak.

The 24-year-old Brooklyn native had a gargantuan season with NYCFC across the 2025 campaign, and is now viewed as one of the top defensive players in MLS. 

Per league insider Tom Bogert, Haak would add key options in both defense and midfield for Greg Vanney, after helping the Pigeons reach the Eastern Conference finals last season.

Despite starring in the Bronx, Haak added his name to the free agent pool after NYCFC reportedly did not value him nearly as high as other clubs across the league, despite making 34 appearances in the heart of the backline under Pascal Jensen.

Should the Galaxy officially capture the former US youth international, it would signal an already impressive off-season that also includes a completed move for Norwegian defender Jakob Glesnes.
