The LA Galaxy has completed the signing of left-back Julian Aude.
The Argentine youth international arrives at the Galaxy from Lanus with a contract that runs through the 2027 season. Signed to a U22 initiative deal, Aude will be the second fullback the Galaxy have signed over the offseason, with the first being Brazilian right back Lucas Calegari.
Head coach and sporting director Greg Vanney spoke about the signing and how he looks forward to integrating the youngster into the team.
"We are pleased to announce Julián as the newest member of the club. Julián is a very talented and highly competitive young player with a great education from his previous club Lanús and with the Argentine youth national teams. We look forward to integrating him into the team and continuing his development."
The Galaxy will want to push for more after the 2022 season saw them fall short in the Western Conference semi-finals against LAFC. With Aude on the roster, LA now has some depth at a position where Raheem Edwards and Chase Gasper are also looking to be the starter going forward.
The team has seen a disappointing start to the 2023 campaign, drawing twice and losing once to enter match day 5 without a victory. Now, the Galaxy continue their MLS campaign this Saturday with a trip away to the struggling Portland Timbers.
