The Los Angeles Galaxy (4-7-16) has made quite a few roster moves this summer. The team has sent two players to MLS's Eastern Conference: goalkeeper John McCarthy and Jonathan Perez.

With the Galaxy on pace to miss the playoffs for the second time in three seasons, and third time in five, the team is looking ahead to building a championship contender next year. Marco Reus, Gabriel Pec, Joseph Paintsil, and Riqui Puig are all under contract through next season.

The LA Galaxy decided to lock up another youthful asset to their team, as it is official that a young defender will be on the main roster for the foreseeable future. According to their team site, the LA Galaxy have "signed defender Chris Rindov to a first-team contract through the 2026 season with club options for 2027 and 2028."

What Chris Rindov has done with Ventura County FC

Rindov made his MLS debut last month against the Colorado Rapids. In the 3-0 shutout victory at home, the defender made some key plays, helping his goalkeeper, JT Marcinkowski. The goalie also made his debut with the Los Angeles Galaxy, but had played in MLS prior.

The LA Galaxy's team site states that "Rindov recorded one goal in 21 appearances (21 starts) across all competitions for Ventura County FC during the 2025 campaign. Rindov signed with VCFC in 2025 after spending two seasons with Sporting Kansas City (2023-24), where he logged one career appearance."

General manager of the LA Galaxy, Will Kuntz, shared that "Since joining the Galaxy family with Ventura County FC, Chris has not only demonstrated an excellent work ethic and strong defensive instincts but has shown himself to be a selfless teammate and leader, willing to do anything to help his teams be successful."

Kuntz went on to say, “His development is a testament to the great work being done by Matt Taylor and Gordon Kljestan to create a competitive environment that prepares our MLS NEXT Pro players for the challenges of MLS. We are excited to welcome Chris and look forward to watching him continue to develop and contribute to the Galaxy.”

What's next for Rindov and his team?

Rindov and the LA Galaxy travel to Texas this weekend to play the Houston Dynamo. This game was originally for July but was rescheduled due to the weather affecting player safety.
