La Liga club confirm rejected €14m offer for Barcelona target | OneFootball

Barcelona are set for a very busy end to the summer transfer window, particularly when it comes to signing players. At least four additions are wanted before the end of the month, with one of those being defender Jorge Salinas.

Barcelona have been chasing Salinas for much of the summer. They failed to sign him in June when they claimed his release clause was €8m, and their efforts have been made much more difficult now that it is valued at €16m.

Racing sporting director Chema Aragon has made the newly-promoted La Liga side’s stance very clear when it comes to Salinas, as he revealed to the media this week (via MD) that they have already turned down at least one big-money offer from an unnamed club.

Barcelona not willing to pay Salinas’ release clause

Barcelona may be very interested in Salinas, but they are not prepared to come close to paying the money that would ensure his signing. At present, they do not want to exceed €6m, although they are prepared to include players as part of a deal to bring up the total value, although Racing are not open to his route for now.

Barcelona’s stance on Salinas does open the door for the likes of Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, both of whom have been linked with the talented 19-year-old in recent weeks. However, they are unlikely to sign him, given that his desire would only be to join Hansi Flick’s squad.
