Since leaving Real Madrid for Girona, Miguel Gutierrez has gone on to establish himself as one of the most reliable and consistent left-backs in La Liga.
The La Fabrica graduate has excelled in his time at Estadi Montilivi, which has led to him attracting interest from top clubs across Europe.
Real Madrid, for their part, have an option to re-sign Gutierrez by utilising a buyback clause they inserted in the agreement with Girona while selling the youngster.
While the Merengues are yet to make a firm decision about whether they will exercise that option, journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Gutierrez remains keen on a return and dreams of succeeding at Real Madrid.
However, the 23-year-old is attracting strong interest from Serie A giants Napoli, who are long-term admirers of the left-back.

The Partenopei have been monitoring the Spanish defender’s progress for a long time now and are weighing up the possibility of a move for him in the summer transfer window.
But Gutierrez, at the moment, continues to dream about a return to the Santiago Bernabeu and succeeding with his boyhood club.
It must be noted that Real Madrid had been looking to reinforce the left-back position with the signing of Alphonso Davies, but he ended up signing a new contract at Bayern Munich.
With neither Ferland Mendy nor Fran Garcia doing enough to nail down the starting berth, there could be room for a player like Gutierrez.
And the affordable buyback clause of €8 million makes his signing an even more enticing prospect. What now remains to be seen is whether Real Madrid decide to activate it or let Napoli swoop him away.
