La Liga have on Friday drawn the ire of fans of both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
This comes owing to an image made use of on one of the latest uploads to the organisation’s official YouTube channel.
The video in question highlights Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr’s very best moments in Spain’s top-flight across the year of 2024.
The issue, however, does not come in the footage utilised, but rather by way of the choice of thumbnail attached to the recent upload.
Rather than use an image of Vinícius celebrating one of the many goals which he actually scored this year, La Liga instead inserted an edited photo of the Brazilian against Barcelona.
In the picture in question, Viní has been cropped in in place of Atlético Madrid star Alexander Sørloth, in a scene stemming from the aftermath of the Norwegian’s last-gasp winner against Barcelona last weekend.
And as much has not gone down at all well with supporters of either club, who have taken to social media throughout the day to date to accuse La Liga of behaving in an altogether disrespectful manner:
