Barcelona have approached the ongoing summer transfer window with all the right targets in mind. With Joan Garcia, they have filled one big position in the dressing room and the next target is the left wing.
Luis Diaz was the club and Deco’s favoured target in the position but a series of events over the past week have seen the club’s wishlist see a dramatic turnaround.
All of a sudden, it is Nico Williams who has emerged as their primary target after the player himself made the approach to the club and conveyed that he wishes to join after rejecting them last summer.
As relayed by the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano in a recent report, Nico Williams has stopped negotiations with all other clubs that have been pursuing his signing.
The Athletic Club winger’s only goal is to play for Hansi Flick’s side and he is thus clear that he will negotiate with nobody else.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal headlined the list of clubs interested in securing the Spaniard’s signing and were even willing to pay far higher wages than Barcelona could offer him.
The 22-year-old, however, has frozen negotiations with both clubs and dreams of Barcelona. It is his total priority to make it happen.
The player’s side of the transfer arrangements, thus, are close to complete and all eyes now fall on Deco and Co. as they plan to arrange Nico’s release clause, make space on the wage bill and clear up talks with Athletic Club.
Needless to say, all hands are on deck for ‘Operation Nico’.
As of earlier today, Deco travelled to Ibiza to meet Hansi Flick and discuss the progress made on the transfer front. The primary objective is to clear up the details of Nico’s arrival for even the player is on vacation at the same destination.
