La Liga clubs have accelerated January business, with Valencia adding midfield and defensive reinforcements and Villarreal moving for further cover, while Alaves prepare for notable exits.

Alaves have loaned defender Moussa Diarra to Anderlecht for the season, with an option to buy. Matteo Moretto reports Carlos Vicente is close to a €10m move to Birmingham City, retaining a sell-on, and that Huesca right-back Angel Perez is set to join.

Barcelona Atletic midfielder Adrian Gill has joined Atlanta United, and MD says a sell-on will be retained. Luca de la Torre has joined Charlotte FC for €300k, Tadeo Allende’s Inter Miami loan is now permanent for €5m, and Fer Lopez returns on loan from Wolves.

Elche have signed Lucas Cepeda from Colo Colo for €1.85m. Gianluca Di Marzio says Espanyol have turned to Cyril Ngonge after missing out on Angel Alarcon, with talks needed with Napoli and Torino. Diario AS states Girona’s record signing Yaser Asprilla has joined Türkiye’s Galatasaray on loan with a €23m option.

Fabrizio Romano says Sevilla will bring in Neal Maupay on loan from Olympique Marseille with a €6m option, replacing Alfon Gonzalez. Valencia have confirmed Guido Rodriguez on a free from West Ham United until the summer, and Unai Nunez on loan after ending his Hellas Verona spell.

Marca states Villarreal are close to Orlando City’s Alex Freeman for around €3.36m plus €2.52m in add-ons, and Alfon Gonzalez is set to arrive on loan with a €7m option.
