Manchester United entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the EFL Cup. The Red Devils made a quick start to the game and scored the opener in the eighth minute when Shea Lacey got his name on the scoresheet. Mason Mount doubled his team’s lead just a couple of minutes later. However, Charalampos Kostoulas got a goal back for Brighton in the first half injury-time as Michael Carrick’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.

Pascal Gross equalised for the Seagulls in the 65th minute before Maxim De Cuyper completed the turnaround just five minutes later. The match ended with Man United suffering a disappointing 3-2 loss at the Theatre of Dreams.
