Austin 1-4 LAFC

LAFC booked their ticket to the next round with a game-two win in Austin.

Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga combined for two of the three goals as the Black and Gold cruised into the next round.

While Austin pulled one back late in the first-half, they had little else to offer in the search for a comeback.

The hosts looked to have cut the lead to just one goal in the final 15 minutes, but a CJ Fodrey goal was ruled out for offsides, much to the bemusement of the home crowd and the Austin bench.

A Jeremy Ebobisse dagger in stoppage time put any Austin hopes to bed.

Columbus Crew 4-0 FC Cincinnati

Columbus thrashed bitter rivals Cincinnati in game-two of their first round matchup, keeping their season alive by forcing game-three in Cincinnati next weekend.

It was an almighty collapse for Pat Noonan's side in the first-half, going two goals down and down to 10-men in an eight-minute span.

After Yūya Kubo was sent off for a denial of clear goalscoring opportunity, Dylan Chambost sent his free-kick up and over the wall into the back of the net to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

Cincinnati could hardly lay a glove on their Ohio rivals in the second-half as the Crew stretched their lead and grabbed all of the momentum heading into the decisive third game.
