LAFC have signed Tomas Angel from Colombian outfit Atletico Nacional on a three-year contract through the 2026 MLS season with an option for 2027.
The 20-year-old, who can play as a striker or a winger, arrives in Los Angeles after spending the last three seasons -- his entire professional career up until this point -- with Nacional in the Colombian top flight. The 20-year-old managed eight goals and two assists in 52 appearances for Nacional, as he scored the bulk of those eight goals in 2023.
Angel joins an LAFC attack that already boasts the likes of Cristian Olivera, Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga, Nathan Ordaz and potentially Carlos Vela if he re-signs with the team.
"Tommy is a gifted and versatile attacker whom we have been monitoring for quite some time during his time with Atletico Nacional and with the Colombian National Teams," co-president and general manager John Thorrington said in a release.
"Tommy knows LAFC well, and we are grateful he also believes LAFC is a fantastic next step for his promising career."
The Black and Gold have brought in another player with a strong winning mentality, as Angel lifted four trophies during his time with Nacional: two Copas Colombia, a Superliga Colombiana and one league title.
Omar Campos, with more arrivals expected to come through the door in the coming weeks.
