LaLiga’s Economic-Financial Report shows clubs earned 5,464 million euros in 2024/25, a record, while net senior debt climbed to 4,794 million. It attributes most of the borrowing to stadium works and CVC commitments and says it is not a concern. It also warns the Premier League’s new rules, allowing 85% of income on squads against an average near 60% in Spain, could create a bubble.

Attendances across Primera and Segunda reached 17.4 million last season, with top-flight occupancy at 84.5%. Matchday income jumped to 902 million euros from 716 million, helped by VIP boxes and other services.

Commercial revenue climbed to 1,584 million euros, overtaking TV income at 1,576 million. Broadcasting fell by 17 million, linked to the CVC agreement.

Stadium works at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Betis and Valencia account for 2,426 million of the debt. A further 1,193 million relates to obligations under the LaLiga Impulso deal with CVC, which involves all clubs except Barça, Madrid and Athletic.

Pandemic after-effects keep the competition in the red, with losses put at 165 million after excluding extraordinary operations by Real Madrid and Barcelona. A similar outcome is anticipated this season, an improvement on the 432 million lost in 2024/25.

Projections put this season’s revenue near 6,000 million euros and say they will, with total certainty, be surpassed in 2026/27. Transfer sales totalled 797 million, the highest since Covid, but well short of 1,128 million in 2019/20, a level not expected to be reached in the medium term.
