Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams will be available at the start of the 2026 World Cup, Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente said on Sunday. The tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July.

Both are nursing left thigh problems, and Spain drew 1-1 with Iraq without them last Thursday. Iraq are scheduled to meet France at the finals.

They have not travelled to Puebla, Mexico, for the final warm-up against Peru overnight Monday to Tuesday, scheduled for 4.00. Medical and fitness staff recommended they remain at the team’s base in the United States.

Lamine Yamal, Williams and Victor Munoz are set to be available for Spain’s opener against Cape Verde on 15 June at 18.00.

Spain then face Saudi Arabia on 21 June at 18.00 and Uruguay on 27 June at 2.00 in the group stage. As reigning European champions, they are among the favourites for the title.
