Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has taken to social media, to reveal his appreciation for the recent efforts of Aston Villa countepart Marcus Rashford.

Wide-man Rashford for his part played a leading role on Wednesday night, as Aston Villa booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Featuring from the off, the England international laid on his latest assist, en route to a dominant 3-0 triumph over Club Brugge.

As much kept alive what has been a fine start to life for Rashford in Villa colours, since his winter arrival from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Prior to linking up with Unai Emery’s side, the attacker was of course hotly tipped for a move to Spain, with Barcelona.

This came amid a search for reinforcements on the left flank on the part of Deco and the Blaugrana transfer team.

In the end, no such move was forthcoming, but as alluded to above, a current member of Hansi Flick’s frontline has this week moved to send a message of support Rashford’s way.
