Former Chelsea youth player Lamisha Musonda, 33, says he has only days left to live amid a terminal illness. The player said in a post that he is seriously ill.

The Belgian joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2012 alongside brothers Tika and Charly, spending two years in the Blues' academy before returning to Mechelen.

He later featured for Spanish lower-league sides Llagostera and Palamos, then for Congolese giants Mazembe. Musonda won nine caps for Belgium Under-21s and retired in 2020.

In his message he thanked those who had stood by him and said he would cherish the memories. He wrote, "Life is hard, but the view is great".

Switching to French, he said the past two years had been especially difficult and that his health was critical, adding that he was fighting to survive. He explained his absence from social media, asked for support and prayers, and vowed not to quit before his last breath.

After receiving widespread well wishes he posted again to express gratitude. He said he was no perfect person, credited football and school with life lessons, and hoped to be remembered for the people he met along the way, from team-mates and coaches to bus drivers, urging everyone to win each day at a time.
