Lankshear strikes late to complete Middlesbrough comeback | OneFootball

Middlesbrough beat Lincoln City 2-1 at the Riverside as Will Lankshear's stoppage time winner gave Boro a comeback start to the Championship, lifting them into seventh.

Adam Reach put Lincoln City ahead in the 12th minute, guiding in Tendayi Darikwa's cross.

George Wickens preserved the lead with sharp stops, notably thwarting Kyle Joseph before the interval, as the visitors absorbed sustained pressure.

Boro levelled through Lankshear (62.), turning in from close range. Riley McGree later supplied the decisive pass for Lankshear to finish in the first minute of second half stoppage time.

After a round of Boro changes, McGree injected control between the lines and created chances that tilted the game.

Boro finished with 22 attempts and 76.5% possession. Lincoln City registered 10 attempts, with Wickens making five saves.

Next, Boro visit Blackburn Rovers. Lincoln City host Portsmouth.
