Oviedo against Athletic began with controversy after an early penalty appeal.

According to El Correo, the flashpoint came in the second minute when Athletic won a corner and their centre-back moved up to attack it.

Bailly was involved in a possible foul for holding on the Athletic defender during the set piece.

Laporte then spoke to the referee, saying: “Te lo juro, te lo juro”.

VAR did not intervene in the incident.
