Larissa Vasconcelos was taken to hospital after a head clash during Santos’ Brasileiro Feminino A-1 opener against Grêmio. The club said in a statement that tests showed no abnormalities, her symptoms had improved, she was medicated and will be discharged.

She will follow concussion protocol, meaning no physical activity for five days. Vasconcelos came on after 22 minutes of the second half and was withdrawn on 43, playing 21 minutes.

An ambulance entered at 45 minutes of the second half. She had collided with Allyne Vithorya de Oliveira Sales Braga, both wearing the number two, and was treated under the concussion procedure at 43 minutes.

Santos beat Grêmio 2-1 at Vila Belmiro in their opening fixture on Monday 16. Katrine and Ana Alice were on target.

Caio Couto’s side face Cruzeiro next Monday 23 at 19:00 at Arena Jacaré.
