Haiti booked their tickets for their first ever Women’s World Cup as they beat Chile in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night.

A Melchie Dumornay brace sealed qualification, with the striker scoring in injury time in both halves. Her second strike sent Haiti into a 2-0 lead in the 98th minute, only for Chile to hit back in the 101st to cause some late tension.

Haiti held on, though, and will face England, China and Denmark in Group D.

Portugal also sealed their place at the tournament for the first time ever as late drama saw them beat Cameroon on Wednesday morning.

Diana Gomes scored a deserved first half opener but Ajara Nchout cancelled that strike out in the final minute of normal time.

But Portugal didn’t need extra-time to win, with Carole Costa netting a 94th minute penalty to book their trip to the southern hemisphere this summer.

They will face the USWNT, Vietnam and the Netherlands in Group A this summer.

There is now just one spot remaining, with Paraguay facing Panama early on Thursday.
