While we’re all basking in the pleasure of last night’s win over Tottenham, it’s easy to forget that the season ends on Saturday. Transfers are already being planned and rumoured, and one in particular has been pushed by Sky Sports today.

Lyall Thomas is claiming that Atletico Madrid want to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea this summer.

Two Spanish giants want Chelsea first team regular

According to the Sky Sports reporter, the full back is a long term target of Atleti sporting director Mathieu Alemany who, also wanted him while he was in charge at Barcelona.

Cucurella is a key player for Chelsea, but with just two years left on his contract, feels like he could be for sale at the right place this summer if he doesn’t agree to a new deal.

Barca are said to also be interested, but are also trying to make the loan of Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal a permanent move.

Given Xabi Alonso is joining and things are looking up, we can’t imagine Cucurella will be desperate to leave. But he will have to agree an extension sooner rather than later.
