Derby County have made a bright start to the new year by continuing their run of good form.
The Rams have moved up to 4th in the League One table as they chase promotion straight back to the second tier at the first attempt.
Paul Warne’s side are unbeaten in 16 games, last suffering defeat in a 1-0 loss to Ipswich Town in October.
The gap to the automatic promotion places is now 11 points, albeit Derby do have a game in hand on their rivals.
Warne will be hoping to use the January transfer window to make some improvements to his first team squad.
Here we take a look at all the transfer headlines surrounding the club…
Hugill interest
Derby are one of several clubs chasing the signature of Norwich City forward Jordan Hugill.
According to Football Insider, the Rams are looking to sign the 30-year old this month in a bid to improve the team’s attacking options.
Hugill has struggled for game time this season, having fallen down the pecking order at Carrow Road.
The striker has previously spent stints on loan with West Brom and Cardiff City, but has made just seven league appearances so far this season.
The League One side will reportedly have to fend off interest from Reading, Birmingham City and Rotherham United in the race to earn his signature.
Springett arrives
Derby County confirmed the addition of Tony Springett from Norwich City.
The 20-year old became the club’s first January addition to the side, also making him the first arrival since Warne’s appointment as manager in September.
The midfielder made just one league appearance for the Canaries before departing on loan to Pride Park.
The youngster will be aiming to gain greater first team experience, having made his debut for Norwich as a substitute against West Ham at the end of the previous season.

Bielik decision
Warne has confirmed that Krystian Bielik will remain with Birmingham for the remainder of the season.
Derby had an option to recall the defender from his season long loan, but the Rams have opted against the move, via .
Bielik has performed well for the Blues this season, becoming a consistent presence in John Eustace’s side.
However, Warne has no intentions of removing him from St. Andrew’s as he doesn’t want to make a decision that the player will be against.
Bielik will return in the summer and enter the final year of his contract with Derby.
