Ipswich Town will be looking to use the rest of this transfer window to their advantage as they bid to beat Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth Argyle in the fight for promotion.
It looks like it’ll be two from the three teams that go straight up into the Championship, and this window will be important for all three of them to try and get the best players in to help their cause.
Gassan Ahadme update
Kieran McKenna has said that no firm decision has been made over Gassan Ahadme’s future at the club, after Burton manager Dino Maamria suggested the Tractor Boys are open to a deal:
“Gassan did really well for us at the start of the season,” Maamria told the Burton’s official website.
“Ipswich have signed even more forwards this window and he was already struggling to make the team.
“I spoke to their manager (Kieran McKenna) last week. We were talking about a few players and Gassan came up in that conversation. He (the Ipswich manager) was keen for Gassan to come back to us, and I felt the same way, but we’re not in a position to pay what they asked for him.”
McKenna didn’t take too kindly to that, saying:
“These conversations should be internal and it’s inappropriate really for anyone to speak about these things externally,” McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk.
“There has been nothing decided yet. We’ve been in conversation with Gassan because he’s our player and he’s someone we think highly of.”
Charlie McNeill links
One player being linked with a move to Ipswich is Charlie McNeill.
The Manchester United youngster is a very talented young player and Football League World has been told that Ipswich are among the clubs interested in him, as well as the likes of Preston North End.
This could be one to track for the rest of the transfer window.
Wolves player Theo Corbeanu is also on the radar of Ipswich, according to reports, ahead of a potential deal.
Corbeanu has been on loan at other EFL clubs in the past, including Ipswich’s promotional rivals Sheffield Wednesday and The Mirror’s Transfer News Live blog recently reported the link.
Another young player that could join McKenna and co. at Ipswich.
