Chelsea have been without two of their key defenders in recent weeks, and we were all tuned in to Liam Rosenior’s update from today’s press conference to find out more.

“Trevoh [Chalobah] trained today, not fully, a modified training. We will make a decision later in the week. Reece [James] is a little bit further away.”

So it sounds like James won’t be risked – Chalobah is maybe a 50-50, and perhaps will be risked given it’s a big game with a lot on the line.

Enzo back and ready to play after ban

As for another absentee – Enzo Fernandez who was suspended for two games by the club, Rosenior said he will be back:

“I don’t ever tell you the starting eleven two days before the game, [but] Enzo has been training and he has been training very well. It’s business as usual in terms of his selection for the game.”

That certainly gives Rosenior more options in attack and midfield, and it will be interesting to see which player drops out of last week’s lineup to get the Argentine back in the mix.

In other news…

Jorrel Hato has been solid this season and shows signs of improvement – we look forward to watching him develop.

Van Aanholt called Hato “one of the better left backs in the league” in his quotes.
