ITV presenter Laura Woods collapsed during the broadcaster’s live build-up of England’s final match of 2025 against Ghana on Tuesday night.
The 38-year-old was leading ITV’s coverage of the friendly at St Mary’s in Southampton and fell forward. Woods was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before the camera cut away from the scene and went to an advert break.
When the coverage of the Lionesses’ game resumed, fellow presenter Katie Shanahan had stepped in to replace the absent Woods, confirming she was unwell. “As you have probably noticed we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill but she’s in very good hands so I’m stepping in at late notice,” Shanahan said.
ITV have yet to give an update on Woods’ health but Shanahan said on air that Woods was “in really good hands and we’re wishing her a speedy recovery.”
Woods’s partner, Adam Collard, later posted a positive update on X: “Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages.”
Woods, who also presents TNT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League, was trending on social media following the incident, with football fans sharing their concern for the presenter’s wellbeing.
