Campos Mello Advogados has filed a court claim seeking about R$740,000 in costs and fees from 777 Carioca LLC, and in filings it records taking part in 2024 meetings over Crefisa owner José Roberto Lamacchia’s potential purchase of Vasco SAF.

Vasco said in a statement that it does not comment on third party documents such as 777 invoices or legal reports, adding that any SAF share negotiations follow governance, compliance and legal requirements.

The case file lists meetings and calls between March and May 2024 involving 777, Crefisa and Vasco. A 10 May meeting lasted two hours 50 minutes and included 777 partner Josh Wander, then Vasco SAF board member Nicolas Maya and Lamacchia.

Topics included media scrutiny of 777, possible effects of US proceedings on Vasco SAF, Lamacchia’s offer and potential legal representation for action by CRVG. Five days later, a court suspended the 777 contract and returned control of the SAF to the club’s association.

On 20 May, with Vasco back in charge, the parties met again to discuss the offer and alternatives, taking into account the stance of Palmeiras president Leila Pereira, Lamacchia’s wife. Talks were close to financial agreement at the time, but stalled over a potential conflict with her position.

The claim seeks recovery of unpaid fees for 2024 meetings, negotiations, arbitrations and court work related to Vasco, and also requests a notation against 777’s Vasco SAF shares to protect collection efforts.

Two years on, Vasco are in talks with Lamacchia’s son, Marcos, over a sale of the SAF. There is confidence in a near agreement, though contracts are still being adjusted before any memorandum of understanding can be signed.
