Lazio confirm Vecino sale to Celta Vigo as Nuno Tavares remains available

With the Serie A window closed, Lazio have confirmed Matias Vecino’s move to Celta Vigo, while Nuno Tavares remains available.

According to Football Italia, the Biancocelesti reshaped their squad in January after a summer transfer embargo prevented signings, trimming players outside Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

Vecino’s contract had only a few months left to run at the Stadio Olimpico. He joined in summer 2022 and made 128 competitive appearances, scoring 13 goals.

Tavares is still on the market, with Besiktas and Benfica interested in potentially signing the injury-prone full-back.

Lazio have also completed the signing of Blaz Kovac from NS Mura.
