Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is considering fielding Luca Pellegrini in his starting lineup against Juventus on Sunday.
The Biancocelesti will enter the contest without a host of injured players. Nuno Tavares became the latest addition to the absentees list, which includes Nicolo Rovella, Taty Castellanos, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Samuel Gigot and Matteo Cancellieri. The Portuguese’s injury left Sarri with a major dilemma to solve, but according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Pellegrini could pull off a timely comeback.
Lazio vs Juventus | Where to Watch, Insights, Lineups & Prediction
The Italian has been out of action since pulling a muscle against Genoa three weeks ago, but he recently rejoined his teammates in training. The source claims that the former Juventus player is now the favorite to start at left-back against his former employers, although he’ll have to pass a late athletic test.
The coach has certainly left his options open, and these include switching either Adam Marusic or Elseid Hysaj to the left side. Moreover, Sarri admitted in his press conference that Oliver Provstgaard could be a solution as well. The young Dane is originally a central defender, but he was also fielded as a left-back in the final minutes against Atalanta last weekend.
Sarri will surely maintain the centre-back partnership of Mario Gila and Alessio Romagnoli, with Ivan Provedel behind them in goal. The midfield trio of Matteo Guendouzi, Danilo Cataldi and Toma Basic should also remain intact, while Gustav Isaksen will replace Cancellieri in the attacking trident, joining Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni.
Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni.
