Lazio ‘have enquired about’ Fares Ghedjemis as potential Cancellieri replacement | OneFootball

Lazio are expected to part ways with Matteo Cancellieri and bring in Fares Ghedjemis as his replacement.

Gazzetta suggests that Lazio have enquired about Ghedjemis, a standout in Serie B last season. The report says Frosinone have set a price Lazio consider excessive, and the club would explore a deal only on more favourable terms.

Lazio are expected to keep Gustav Isaksen, a profile admired by Gennaro Gattuso. The Dane should be first choice on the right. Cancellieri, who competed with him last season, is on the transfer list amid links to Olympiacos, Fiorentina and Torino.

Ghedjemis helped Frosinone win promotion to Serie A, contributing 15 goals and three assists in 37 league appearances as they finished second.

The forward began at Troyes, then had spells with Le Havre, Evreux, Vannes and Rouen before joining Frosinone in January 2024 for a reported €300,000. His contract runs until June 2028.

The 23-year-old is left footed and chiefly operates as an inverted right winger, though he can play on the left or as an attacking midfielder.
