Joaquin Correa has no future at Inter and his agents have been working on a possible return to his former club Lazio, reports suggest.

The Argentinian striker struggled for consistent playing time in his first two seasons with the Nerazzurri and was shipped out to Olympique Marseille on loan last season. After another disappointing campaign, he was not purchased and return to the Lombardy capital.

Correa has one year left on his contract with Inter but isn’t part of Simone Inzaghi’s project moving forward, leaving him in limbo. The club have been looking for ways to cut his €3.5m net per season wages from their books, wanting to make space for new signings.

Correa escape

Calciomercato.com details how Lazio are looking for another forward to bolster Marco Baroni’s frontline and have identified Correa as an alternative to Armand Lauriente, who won’t come cheap from Sassuolo.

The Argentinian forward’s agents have been working on trying to bring him back to the Biancocelesti, but Claudio Lotito wants a discount on either his wages or his circa €7m price tag, his cost on the Nerazzurri’s balance sheet.
