Lazio are set for changes in goal this summer, with Inter moving for Ivan Provedel and Christos Mandas’ future still open.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Bournemouth would like to keep Mandas for a lower fee after declining an €18 million option, and with Marco Rose in charge and Europa League football ahead, the Greek could find more chances at the Vitality Stadium in 2026/27.
Provedel has been first choice since arriving from Spezia in 2022. Mandas joined in 2023, mostly as back-up, and stepped in when the Italian was injured or out of form. He left for Bournemouth on loan in January, and 21-year-old Edoardo Motta impressed while Provedel underwent shoulder surgery.
At least one of the trio is expected to depart. Provedel currently looks the likeliest, with Inter making significant progress on a deal, while Mandas’ situation also remains unresolved.
Mandas did not make an appearance on the south coast, as Andoni Iraola kept faith with Djordje Petrovic, so Bournemouth will not trigger the €18 million clause.
The incoming 48-year-old head coach has indicated he wants Mandas to stay if Provedel is sold, and is willing to guarantee the Piraeus native a starting role, with Motta as understudy. Despite Motta’s promise, the club consider him not yet ready for a leading position.
