Claudio Lotito is close to buying Reggina after an agreement in principle with majority owner Nino Ballarino, Il Corriere dello Sport reports, with an investment of €1.5 to €2 million.
The 69-year-old has owned and presided over Lazio since 2004, but relations with the fanbase are at a low. After a second straight season without Europe and a trimmed squad, organised groups are boycotting home games until he leaves.
His role at the Calabrian club is unclear, though his son Enrico is likely to take a key position. Lucchese general director Andrea Gianni is also expected to join.
Lotito previously ran Salernitana alongside Lazio, then sold in 2021 when the club reached Serie A. Rules introduced in 2022 bar any person or entity from owning two teams in Serie A, B or C.
If Reggina secure promotion to Serie C by the end of next season, he would have one year to sell either the Amaranto or Lazio, effectively by June 2028.
