Lazio are reportedly closing in on Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth, who could fill the gap left by Matteo Guendouzi.

According to The Laziali, Lazio have agreed personal terms with Toth and are negotiating with Ferencvaros. The gap between the clubs is said to be minor, so an agreement could arrive in the coming hours or days.

Guendouzi joined Fenerbahce on Thursday in a deal worth about €30 million, leaving a hole in midfield. Lazio added Kenneth Taylor from Ajax on Friday, though the left-footed Dutchman might not directly cover Guendouzi’s role.

Toth is viewed as one of Hungary’s standout prospects in recent years. A Budapest native, he came through Ferencvaros’ academy and has been with the first team since January 2024.

This season he has made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying five assists. He has drawn interest from Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United, with Lazio currently ahead of the pack.
