Lazio are on the verge of securing Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia after the player gave the all-clear and there was a change in the format of the deal.
The Aquile had shaken hands with the recently-relegated club in an agreement to sign Dia on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season for €10m.
That seemed to be at risk of collapse over the last few days because of his wage demands and hesitation, but Sky Sport Italia now report that the Senegal international has accepted the transfer.
It is still not finished yet, as the same source also notes that there has been a change in the details between the clubs.
Diego Gonzalez was originally meant to be going to Salernitana as part of the exchange, but they decided on sending Fabio Ruggeri to the Stadio Arechi instead.
Dia is 27 years old and his goals had helped Salernitana stay in Serie A during his debut season, then last term a deadline day move to Wolverhampton Wanderers collapsed, infuriating the player.
He ended up being dropped from the squad as they hurtled towards relegation.
The former Villarreal and Stade Reims man returned to the team this week in the first round of the Coppa Italia, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the victory over Spezia.
