Lazio are still scouring the market for a midfielder after selling Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce for €30 million, with Tim Iroegbunam and Tanner Tessmann emerging on their shortlist. Kenneth Taylor has arrived from Ajax, but the club want a right-footed option.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Lazio have set their sights on Tessmann and also hold an interest in Iroegbunam. They previously missed out on Alex Toth and Giovanni Fabbian, who joined Bournemouth and Fiorentina respectively.
The 24-year-old USMNT midfielder has 12 caps, began in Alabama, then played in Dallas and North Texas, before joining Venezia in 2021. He moved to Olympique Lyonnais in summer 2024 for €6 million and has become a regular under Paulo Fonseca, making 24 appearances and scoring two goals this season.
Iroegbunam, 22, is Birmingham born with Nigerian roots and came through West Bromwich Albion. After spells at Aston Villa and on loan at QPR, he joined Everton in 2024 for €11 million, and has 17 Premier League outings with three assists this term.
No official bid has been lodged with Everton, and Lazio are expected to sell a midfielder before bringing one in. Reda Belahyane is the leading candidate to depart Formello this month, with links to a return to Hellas Verona and a reunion with Marco Baroni at Torino.
