Lazio have managed to register four victories in their last five encounters across all competitions, and this includes back-to-back wins over Napoli, a fabulous display against Ajax in Amsterdam, plus a slim win over Lecce at the Via del Mare in their most recent outing. But needless to say, this impressive run is blemished by the horrific 0-6 beatdown at the hands of Inter Milan.
So while the Biancocelesti didn’t look fully recovered from that catastrophic outing on their last appearance, the result they achieved in Lecce should help the healing process. Moreover, Marco Baroni’s men still sit in an impressive fourth league in the table, ahead of Fiorentina, Juventus, Bologna and Milan.
With 11 league wins on the trot, it’s difficult to find a team that is in better form than Atalanta all across Europe. La Dea’s purple run includes a 3-0 humbling of Napoli at the Maradona, in addition to victories over Milan and Roma.
In their most recent outings, the Orobici were less dominant, but they still managed to collect three vital points against Cagliari (1-0) and Empoli (3-2) even when they weren’t at their best. This allowed Gian Piero Gasperini’s men to maintain their well-deserved spot on top of the Serie A table.
