LD Alajuelense exits WCC with win

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup continued with LD Alajuelense earning a 1-nil win against Chorrillo FC in Group A on Tuesday at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The only goal of the game came in the 11’, from the boots of Sofia Varela, who sent a long left-footed volley from the left side of the box to place Las Leonas ahead.

Chorrillo FC tried to even things out, however, LDA goalkeeper Dayana Pérez was key to stopping every chance that came her way, keeping a clean sheet for the second time in the campaign.

LD Alajuelense leaves the W Champions Cup with a record of 1-1-2 to finish fourth place in the group.

The Panamanian champions leave their first W Champions Cup participation with a record of 0-0-4 and fifth place in Group A.
