Regis Le Bris has confirmed several injury blows for Sunderland with Jocelin Ta Bi, Romaine Mundle, Brian Brobbey and Nordi Mukiele all set for spells on the sidelines.

All four suffered the injuries in last week’s defeat to Fulham, with Ta Bi and Mundle’s more serious.

“It might be a difficult injury,” Le Bris said on Mundle.

“He might be sidelined for a few weeks, months. We still have a few more assessments to make but we’ll have a clear picture soon.

“He’s experienced this injury before so it means something for him. It’s still early to say if it is exactly the same.”

“Jocelin might be the same position as Romaine, with a different injury,” Le Bris continued.

“He might need surgery so weeks, months. It’s still a bit early as well.”

Mukiele and Brobbey, meanwhile, are expected to be out for a maximum of a month with their injury issues.

“It will be shorter for Mukiele and Brian,” Le Bris said. “Between two or four weeks depending on the way they respond to the treatment and the rehab.

“It won’t last too long.”

Dennis Cirkin and Reinildo are also getting closer to returning but are not yet ready to feature.

“He’s getting better, like Reinildo,” Le Bris said on Cirkin. “We miss them but they are getting better and the timeline should be shorter, around ten days maybe depending on the last stage of the rehab as well.”

Bertrand Traore, however, is back in contention again having returned to training.

“He returned for training this week and Granit as well played 20 minutes, so good news,” Le Bris said.
